Dental fillings are treatments used to restore the function, integrity, and shape of missing tooth structure. Missing tooth structure, or cavities, are areas in teeth that have been permanently damaged and developed into tiny holes. Dental fillings, typically tooth-colored (composite) fillings and silver-colored (amalgam) fillings, are used to repair this damage.
